Dynamic Nonreciprocity with a Kerr Nonlinear Resonator

On-chip optical nonreciprocal devices are vital components for integrated photonic systems and scalable quantum information processing. Nonlinear isolators circulators have attracted considerable attention because of their fundamental interest important advantages in circuits. However, based on Kerr or Kerr-like nonlinearity subject to dynamical reciprocity when the forward backward signals coexist simultaneously a nonlinear system. Here, we theoretically propose method realizing on-chip with dynamic nonreciprocity. Dynamic nonreciprocity is achieved via chiral modulation resonance frequency due coexisting self- cross-Kerr nonlinearities an ring resonator. This work showing resonator can be essential step toward isolation.
